I guess you could say War Horse was my biggest ‘study’. The idea of paining this massive, tired horse ran through my head for a solid six months prior to putting the brush to canvas. Initially, War Horse actually presented himself in a completely different stylistic way however, unknowingly, the painting progressed into what became the first of my gird series.  In the end – This stud came to life more grand manifestation than I could have imagined.
